Foreign journalists killed in Homs shelling
Two foreign journalists have been killed in Homs, activists say, as shelling of a district of the Syrian city continued amid warnings of an escalating humanitarian crisis. Omar Shakir, an activist in the city, told Al Jazeera that the deaths of Marie Colvin, a US reporter working for the UK's Sunday Times newspaper, and French photographer Remi Ochlik occurred as a building used by activists as a media centre was shelled on Wednesday. I was a spectator watching the races, shooting from my phone. I catch the boat flip, so I posted originally on youtube as "Boat flip" because It was no crash, and no one died. I was shocked and extremely scared at that moment. 28 Belgians killed in Swiss coach crash
www.euronews.com Twenty-eight people, including 22 children, have been killed in a coach crash in a Swiss motorway tunnel. The coach was carrying a group of 55 tourists, mostly schoolchildren from Belgium, who were heading home after a skiing holiday in the resort of Val d'Anniviers. Twenty-four children were injured. Some are in a serious condition in hospital. Officials says the coach was travelling through a motorway tunnel in the Swiss canton of Valais, when it crashed head-on into the wall. Both of the drivers were killed. The coach was one of three travelling together, heading back to the villages of Lommel and Heverlee in the Flanders region of Belgium. The other two have returned home. Belgium's Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo is heading to Switzerland and two planes are being laid on to fly the relatives of the victims to the region. The crash was one of the worst in Switzerland since 1982 when 39 German tourists were killed on a railway crossing after a train hit their a bus. 'Iran to target US & Israel for killing nuke scientist'
Tension between the US and Iran is being ratcheted up on what seems like a daily basis. Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan from the Natanz uranium enrichment plant was killed in a car bomb on Wednesday. Four Killed at Jewish School in France: Rabbi, 3 Children Dead at Ozar Hatorah School in Toulouse
A rabbi, his two children, and a third child were killed outside the Ozar Hatorah Jewish school in Toulouse, France. The attacker fled on a black scooter and has not been identified yet. Several other children were seriously injured, and those who have died have all been under 10 years old. Residents of Toulouse say the school is the centre of the local Jewish community, and the chief rabbi of France, Gilles Bernheim, said we was bruised in his body and soul. French President Nicolas Sarkozy came immediately to Toulouse as authorities search for the killer. The Israeli Foreign Ministry responded by expressing outrage at the killings and has immediately called for security to be increased at all Jewish schools in Europe. A member of the European Jewish Parliament representing France, Yael Malka, said the French Jewish community was in a state of shock following the killings. The motive for the murders is still unclear, but a similar attack was carried out several days before. Two French soldiers were killed by a man who also escaped on a scooter. Some fear that a terror group may be operating in southern France.

Egypt: More than 70 killed in football violence
www.euronews.net At least 73 people have been killed and 1000 more injured after a football pitch invasion in the Egyptian city of Port Said. The riot followed a game between home side al-Masry and bitter rivals Al Ahli, one of Egypt's most successful clubs. Masry fans invaded the pitch, even though their team had won the match 3-1. After nearly five decades of war, the Colombian government appears to have dealt a major blow to FARC, the Marxist rebel group. Defence ministry sources said the group's top commander, Alfonso Cano, was killed in a military raid on Friday. Cano, who became FARC's leader in 2008, had a $5m bounty on his head.
